What this platform stores

A free membership stores your email address, the stories you save, your email-update preference, and the time you joined and confirmed your preferences. A secure cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. You do not need an account to read or watch published news.

Email and your choices

Requesting a sign-in link sends one email to the address you provide. Signing in confirms access to that address. News updates are optional and are sent when Chris publishes a story and selects subscriber notification. Change your preference in Account or use the unsubscribe link in an update.

How it is handled

The website uses Vercel for hosting, Google Cloud/Firebase for private account records and media storage, and Resend for sending email. These services process the information needed to operate the platform. Account email addresses and saved-story lists are not shown publicly. The news platform does not include advertising tracking or sell member information.

Retention and deletion

Your account and saved stories remain until you delete your account in Account. Deletion removes your email and saved-story list from the active account record and stops updates. Sign-in records, delivery records and provider logs may remain for operational and security purposes. A technical record of deletion remains to prevent reuse of old sign-in links. Hosting or storage backups can retain earlier records according to the providers’ settings.

News and tips

Only published posts appear in the news feed. Private tip submissions are handled separately and are not automatically made public by this platform. Read about the private reporting tool on the Tipline Newsroom page.
